About

Is the Initial Response Index a personality test? 2018-03-12T15:51:38+00:00

No. While it does give you insight that might feel similar or familiar to you like a personality assessment, the Initial Response Index is not the same.

It is a situational psychometric assessment. Your results can vary and change over time due to your personal growth or current circumstances influencing your individual needs.

Personal Agility Insights

What is interpersonal agility? 2018-02-25T10:03:55+00:00

Your skills, values and behaviors used in relationship, communication and interactions with others in all aspects of life measured against your preferences and capacities for agile, open behavior.

People with a low preference for openness and agility tend to encounter repeated problems in relationships, at work, being heard or understood and likely feel threatened by the changing environment around you.

People functioning at optimal levels of openness and agility are higher performers and play key roles in helping others change around them.

What does interpersonal mean? 2018-02-25T10:04:06+00:00

Interpersonal means the skills between people used in relationships (the state in which two or more people are connected), communication (any exchange of information), and how we interact (behaviors) with others.

How does this apply to my goal setting? 2018-02-25T10:03:26+00:00

Setting individual goals: when you understand your own needs and natural preference for change, you are able to find a more productive flow with less resistance. It also allows you to create balance for any major gaps that are identified.

Setting community wide goals: knowing your strengths as you step into a community-wide initiative allows you to do the best for all involved. You’ll be able to take on roles that are a true fit which gives the overall initiative both the opportunity to drive the change and the opportunity to actually implement and sustain the initiative.

Setting project goals:  with your insight, you can take a strategic role in the project that can aid the project team in executing their goal with efficiency and effectiveness. It is moving towards helping teams being in a constant state of flow and agility which leads to higher performance and outcomes.

How do I apply my insights for having more open discourse on hard topics? 2018-02-25T09:59:37+00:00

We live in a society with a desperate need for productive, open discourse. With these insights on how people respond to change, you can begin to create safer spaces for hard conversations. How can I think about applying these insights in my relationships? 2018-02-25T10:03:31+00:00

The first question may be what is a relationship and what is a team?

A relationship is the state of how two or more people are connected and their behaviors towards each other.

A team is two or more people coming together working towards a common goal.

You are in a constant state of relationship with the environment and people around you. And in some cases, you have formed teams in your life. When applying interpersonal agility think about your personal life, serving in your community, and in the workplace. All of these areas would benefit from openness and interpersonal agility.

Does being a Pauser mean I am resistance to change? 2018-02-25T10:03:42+00:00

No. In fact, Pausers can outpace Pouncers during change in terms of speed of implementation.  Being a Pauser indicates your preference in how you interact with change (or, making decisions). You influence the decisions and change process by asking questions, identifying potential risk, allowing others to be heard, and providing stability during change. You are a key player in the survival of the change.

What concerns do I have as a Pouncer? 2018-02-25T10:03:37+00:00

You drive change and adaptability around you in all interactions. Depending on how extreme of a Pouncer you are and your role in change, you may need to engage others who are opposite of you to help you sustain your change. Super power Pouncers tend to ignore details and risks and run straight towards the shiny new thing or idea which is great if you have someone to help fill those gaps on your team. Your intensity towards disruption may rub those around you the wrong way, so be aware of your approach during conversations.

Does my Pause/Pounce Index equal speed of adoption? 2018-02-25T10:03:49+00:00

No. Your score shows your preference for interacting with change. If you have a higher Pause score, you prefer to act in a way that sustains and optimizes the change.  If you have a higher Pounce score, you prefer to act in a way that drives change and adaptability for those involved.

At times, Pausers can outpace Pouncers during change depending on the role they take.
